Het Pand

The Congress will be held in “het Pand” Congress Centre of Ghent University. ‘Het Pand’ is an old Dominican monastery located in the heart of the city on the banks of the river Leie, near the medieval port with the guildhalls as its remnants. It was recently acquired by Ghent University and converted to a congress center. The venue is located in the heart of the historical city center, within walking distance of all major hotels and touristic attractions.

The City of Ghent

Ghent is a vibrant city, nested between Brussels and the coast, with a population of around 300,000 inhabitants. It has an extensive history and is well known as one of the Flemish Art Cities. Famous attractions include Jan Van Eyck’s ‘Adoration of the Lamb’, the Castle of the Counts, and the Belfry among many others.

Ghent is host to one of the largest universities of Belgium with over 38.000 students. The city has excellent connections to Brussels Airport with two direct trains per hour.

Congress dinner

The 7th WCACS will be a unique opportunity for faculty, attendees and industry to interact with each other. There will be ample time for this during the breaks at the meeting venue but also during the session we will have protected time to discuss the presentations with the audience.

On Friday May 29th 2015 we will organize the WSACS Networking Event, which will allow participants to expand their network, discuss opportunities for research and build strong ties for future cooperation.

This replaces the formal seated congress dinner and will start at 19h30 in location close to the meeting venue.
As WSACS strongly believes that this is an important goal of the meeting, the society will bear most of the costs for this and participants will be able to register for 30 EUR only. You can register for this event together with your general registration.

Registration includes fine Belgian cuisine during a walking dinner as well as drinks during dinner.

Don’t miss this great opportunity!
